Hi. I wasn't looking to start a debate who makes better movies, more of them per year, or who made the first one. What's the point of that. I know that every country has made great films. I really just want to know the names of some of them so I can watch them. So, If you know of a great movie that we Americans might not have seen, I would really like to know of it. Thank you again.

Run lola run, Amelie, Snatch, and Lock Stock are among some of my favorite films ever. I'd also like to say Guy Ritchie is the reason I started to make films, he is easily the man.

Didn't the Lumiere Brothers invent cinema, and weren't they French? Hong Kong makes the best movies in my opinion.

Hey there.
I for one have never "bashed" american films. But I have bashed wanky American films. Just as I would bash a wanky film made in the UK.
Another thing just because a country started something doesnt mean there the best at it. Have you ever seen England play football?

There seems to be a misconception about the film industry starting in the USA. Before WW1 there were plenty of films made in Europe. Language was not really a problem, but they were mainly silent shorts.
After WW1 the industry took off in the US because of their ability to undertake all year production under natural light.Anyhow I thought it was the likes of Lumiere (France) and Louid le Price(Leeds UK) who started it off with some bloke called Edison tagging along on their coat tails.

Guy Ritchie blows goats: I have proof.
The problem is that all American films lose credibility because of all the hype and general bollocks that surrounds the industry.
The Oscars is such a joke. All the overated hollywood favourites win beacause nobody has heard of the others and all the people that vote are over 90 years old and need help taking a shit. I know people whose relatives vote becasue they make lots of money from big productions but haven't seen a film since gone with the wind.
Russel Crowe? What the fuck, there was better acting from people in the same film as him but he still won. A beautiful mind? What the fuck, putting some guy in a goofy haircut and making him do eccentric things does not make him a method actor.
If you want to win an Oscar just get a big star to do a non glamorous role where they die at the end or have lots of emotional problems, get them to talk quietly (sixth sense/in the bedroom/unbreakable) and you will have the critics making all kinds of noises.
The Americans make 'movies' not 'films'
